About us

EMINENC is a private Language School that was established soon after the fall of communism in 1989 in our republic. Our goal has been to provide top quality language teaching to working professionals. Though we consider ourselves a small school, in more than twenty years of existence we have managed to build a solid reputation among an extensive clientele throughout many companies in Prague, ranging from small, private ones to prestigious former big state monopolies, government institutions and also international corporations. This was only possible due to the personal dedication of the management of the school, everyone in the office and you, the enthusiastic and dedicated teachers.

The EMINENC Language School office is located in Prague 2 - Vinohrady, on Krkonosska Street close to Namesti Jiriho z Podebrad metro station (A line). By metro or by tram, you can get to the very center of Prague in about 10 minutes.

Teachers can come by and make the most of their time preparing for classes, using a computer, copier, perusing the library, and socializing with us or other faculty members over a cup of coffee.

Some classes are taught at our premises, but most of them take place in the companies, right at the clients´ location. Our students are composed of individuals and company groups, smaller groups of managers or experts and executives.

Schedule, full-time job

We teach all day from early mornings till late evening hours. The first classes begin at 8:00 am and the last ones end at 6:00, 7:00 or 8:00 pm. We teach in two lesson blocks, one lesson is 45 minutes. A typical, full-time job involves 26 forty-five minute lessons a week, with a possibility of adding lessons as each teacher requires. Usually, teachers teach 28-32 forty-five minute lessons/week.

Over the last ten years the language teaching market has become very much professionalized. Some of the teachers are qualified language instructors who prove not only to have good qualifications but also experience from previous language teaching careers. Knowledge of modern methodology and above all enthusiasm and personal commitment has become a required standard.

Teachers take central place in our school, and each teacher is considered to be an integral member of our team. Each member of our team benefits from our careful, personal approach. We are always glad to provide professional support, background information, office assistance and cross-cultural adaptation, as required by each instructor.

A University degree, a teaching certificate (TEFL or TESOL, CELTA etc.) and ideally some practice in teaching adults. Knowledge and work experience in some business area (management, administration, commerce, marketing, banking, finance) is not required but welcome.
