Finances

Although Prague is a relatively cheap city to live in compared to other Western metropoli, we strongly recommend you bring over some finances for the very beginning - about 1000 USD. This will make your situation easier before you start working and receive your first pay. You will pay for your short-term accommodation, food and transportation, the sum of one to two months rent as deposit for your long-term flat in advance and some fees for permits and translations (see section Permits, above).

Practical Advice

We recommend that you study some information about teaching in a foreign country, especially about teaching here to lessen your cultural shock. It has been our experience over the years that people coming here are not fully prepared to meet the challenges of living and working in Central Europe.
