What we offer

We provide our teachers with the maximum professional support within our staff development capabilities. Our Director of Studies is willing to assist you with professional matters and ready to solve the everyday challenges of teaching and interacting with business clientele. He/she arranges the schedule of each teacher, organizes the smooth start of each course, help with the overall plan and syllabus for each class, the structure of lessons and the choice of teaching materials. The Director also can sit for observations and can give you extensive assessments of your teaching and provide you with feedback to assist you with your professional growth. He/she also helps you with records on teaching, development of testing materials and evaluations and any specific needs of the client.

During the last academic years series of professional workshops were held for our teachers on ESL teaching methodology developed for our purposes and run mostly by a native speaker trainer with extensive ESL qualifications.

The main source of materials for our teachers is our school library. It includes a wide variety of textbooks of general and specialized language (such as business, law, medicine, engineering etc.), grammar reference guides and workbooks, dictionaries, supplementary materials (reading, listening, speaking) and language teaching guides published by professional ELT British publishers (Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, ELT, etc.). These materials cover elementary to advanced speakers. Additional materials such as audio and videotapes, CDs and DVDs are also available.

Academic year starts in the beginning of September and runs till the end of June. Therefore, if you are seriously interested in working with us based on a yearly or longer contract, we recommend that you get in touch with us between June and August - by e-mail or a telephone, or you can come in if you are in Prague.

We also accept teachers during the academic year based on our needs at the time. Contact our Director of Studies via e-mail anytime to be informed about our current needs.

This upcoming academic year we open approx. 3 new full-time positions for native ESL teachers, 2 for Czech teachers of English language and one position for a Spanish teacher.

We will continue to run and extend the on-going long-term Professional Development Program project.

We will continue in our effort to make the school environment supportive and vibrant and keep everyone informed by school teachers´ board on new web sites we are corrently launching.

For new teachers, we have an in-house corporate training program focusing on thoroughly acquainting the teacher with our school presentation, organization, policy, culture and methods of teaching, as well as training in "smooth starts" in the classes, the teaching process and finally cross-cultural components.

The pay is based on the number of lessons taught. The more you teach the more you earn.

If you work full-time your pay is on average from 22,000 to 28,000 CzC/month. Such a salary allows a comfortable life in Prague. Above that, teachers are awarded public transportation monthly passes.

For full-time jobs (26 lessons/week) there is one month paid holiday in the summer, paid out also if you leave at the end of June. Teachers have about 10 days of Christmas holiday and usually take two months off in the summer, however it is possible to teach part-time. For exact rates of the pay, contact our Director of Studies.

We do our best to get satisfactory accommodations for our teachers who need housing assistance in the shortest possible time. Though we do not provide our teachers with school flats, if you require it, we will help you find a quiet, comfortable and clean, private flat within easy reach of local transportation. If you decide to find lodging on your own, there are many agencies that will certainly provide you with good service (the initial cost is usually half to two months’ rent).

Starting out

Hostels cost from 10 USD and up. Pensions, hotels and short-term flats are expensive in Prague - from 40 USD a night and more. Therefore the teachers who come from abroad usually stay only for a short time before they or we find a suitable flat for them. You can book a room via e-mail.
